Nike One Golf Balls – Black, Gold And Platinum Ball Review

Of all the Nike golf balls I have tested, one stands out. That’s a bit

of a pun really, because the one that stands out is Nike ONE. I wouldn’t

recommend a particular golf ball to you just because it’s played by so

many players on the pro tour, including Tiger Woods. The pros have their own

way of playing, and you have yours, and what you really need is golf ball that

enhances your own particular skills.

What Is the Nike One

The ball has a speedy core with three different covers. Each of the covers

has a specific function, from transferring energy to the core to allowing high

spin and maximum control on the greens. It is designed to do what the golfer

wants it to do, irrespective of the type of shot being played. In this respect

it is excellent. It does the job of three different balls!

The Golf Ball You Use Makes A Difference

I know what you are thinking. I bet you think that a better swing, or even

a better set of golf clubs, is what you really need. You know what – you

are right. A better swing will help you more than you could imagine, and clubs

definitely make a difference. But how about the ball? Have you really thought

how much difference a golf ball could make?

Nike One Black And Gold Golf Balls

There are three types of Nike One golf balls. Nike Golf said the One Black

is designed for maximum distance and reduced spin for the player who places

a premium on low-spin and high launch conditions, and prefers a crisp feel with

more penetrating trajectory. The Gold Nike ball is designed for players who

like to shape shots and optimize control around the greens. Both balls are priced

at a very high $54 per dozen.

Nike Platinum One Golf Ball

The Platinum is designed to offer a higher trajectory and lower spin rate off

today’s maxi-drivers. This is the ball Tiger place with. In fact, Tiger encouraged

the director of product development to set to work on a new, higher-trajectory

version of the Nike One.

Nike is stated that Tigers distance as gone up 7 yards with this ball, while

his greens in regulation and scoring have also improved. We are not Tiger Woods,

but interesting to know those stats. Again, this ball is priced very high, and

is best for the low single digit handicapper.

Who Should Use The Nike One Golf Ball

Nike provide a wide range to meet the needs of golfers of all

abilities, from the rank rookie to the top professional. If you have reached

the stage of the game that you can swing consistently, and can control your

spin to some extent, I suggest you try Nike One golf balls.

Alternatives Balls Available

I certainly would not recommend Nike One to a rookie, or even a player with

a golf handicap of more than fourteen or so. At that stage you are still learning

how to swing (aren’t we all!), and get some spin control. You should try

one of the other Nike balls, like the Nike Juice that gives good straight distance

with low to medium clubhead speeds.

If you are past that stage I really do believe that the Nike One gives you

greater length, but even more importantly, gives you a high degree of spin control.

It will be very fast in the air, but you can stop that ball dead in the middle

of the green! What more do you want? What more can I say?
