Taylormade TP Black Golf Ball Review

This particular golf ball, the TP Black, made by Taylormade has been used in worldwide tours winning the game for its player more than 20 times. Increased spin and maximized distance are achieved by pros and casual players alike, thanks to its three piece construction of cast urethane.

Serious players can be assured of tour performance when using these balls made by Taylormade. Just like its brothers and sisters; the Taylormade Burner Ball, the Taylormade Burner Tour Ball and the Penta TP Ball; this TP black golf ball is making winners of not-so-winning players.

For those of you wondering, the Taylormade TP Red has a core that is slightly larger than the TP Black, but still utilizes the same innovative core.

Here Are The Specs!

• For faster speed, this Taylormade golf ball has an inside made of an NDV4 core (a proprietary rubber compound).
• Even on off center hits, a player can enjoy increased distance, thanks to this Taylormade golf ball’s technology using LDP Dimples in a DPD pattern.
• And speaking of dimples, there are no less than 360 of them on these balls which increases hang time and distance.
• An advanced paint system makes TP balls different from (more sophisticated than) Maxfli balls.
• Upon impact, this ball literally rides up the clubface slightly, creating lower spin and a higher launch angle (that makes it go further).

Will It Give You Some Distance Increases?

Honestly, increased distance is what this golf ball is all about. Even when hit off center, the casual golfer in need of a little assistance can notice a significant increase, all thanks to longer hang time. Let’s face it, the longer the ball stays in the air; ideally, the further it goes.

Forgiveness Factor

Players utilizing this ball are realizing a decent amount of bite even with this softer ball, and a significant resulting distance. Faster is better and this ball leaves the tee and sails through the air at a faster rate with less effort at the tee. In addition to starting the hole well, this ball can roll off of the putter nicely with a great feel. Increased hang time and distance which results from the 360 LDP dimples on the outside of this ball makes this ball a valuable buy for the player needing just that little bit of forgiveness.

Will It Empty Your Wallet?

Depending on whether you can or cannot avoid the water, the fact that this ball does not float means that you may not be able to retrieve it, accordingly it may never be used again.

Other than that the value of these balls, for what you pay for them, is respectable. This is a premium ball at a regular ‘discounted’ price of approximately $30.00 per dozen.

Taylormade’s Reputation

Taylormade is one of the biggest names in golf equipment that there ever was. So it’s no wonder that so many people have tried these new golf balls already.

One golfer that not only tested, but purchased and continued to use them really put it the test the first time he used them by going out in the worst gulf conditions ever known to mankind.

The greens on that golf course consisted of hard dirt and patches of sand. The first ball hit exhibited a backspin that this player had never before been able to accomplish. He didn’t even use one of his better clubs; he was serious about testing out these balls!

Despite what other people have said about the ball coming apart at the seams, the ball used by this player causes him to disagree with the naysayers; the ball looked as new after 18 holes as it did when he hit it for the first time. He gave the Taylormade TP a five out of a possible five star rating.

Let’s Wrap This Up!

Let’s face it, Taylormade golf balls are what Titleist manufacturers have nightmares about. Not only are they threatening to dethrone the well known and utilized Titleist brand balls, they’re currently working on a successor to the TP Black that will surely knock them off of their high horse.

Thanks to Nike R & D and Tiger Woods, Titleist seems to be losing its grip soon. What do you think?
